More than half of confined-space fatalities are would-be rescuers — proof that these incidents are failures of planning and supervision, not of courage. This programme builds the competence of the people who authorise and supervise confined space work: recognising and classifying spaces, from tanks and vessels to sewers, silos and excavations; specifying the atmospheric testing regime — which gases, which instruments, in what sequence, at what intervals — and reading the results; engineering the isolations, ventilation and access controls that make an entry defensible; interfacing entry with the permit-to-work system; and building a rescue plan that works without improvisation, including equipment, team readiness and emergency-services interface. Casework runs on real multiple-fatality investigations from oil and gas, mining and utilities. The programme is fully classroom-deliverable and deliberately supervisor-level: it does not replace hands-on entrant or rescuer certification, and practical drills — SCBA, tripod and casualty-recovery exercises — can be arranged as an in-house add-on at your own facility. Does the confined space course include practical entry or rescue drills?
The open-enrolment programme is deliberately supervisor-level and fully classroom-delivered: it trains the people who authorise and supervise confined space work, and it does not replace hands-on entrant or rescuer certification. Participants learn to specify the atmospheric testing regime — which gases, which instruments, in what sequence, at what intervals — and to read the results under field conditions. Rescue planning covers self-rescue, non-entry and entry rescue, equipment and team readiness, and the emergency-services interface — built so it works without improvisation, since more than half of confined-space fatalities are would-be rescuers.
