In many operations contractors work more than half the hours in the field, yet their safety performance is often managed at arm’s length — until an incident makes it the client’s problem. This programme builds a contractor safety management system across the full cycle: prequalify, select, mobilise, execute, demobilise and close out. It draws on recognised frameworks including API Recommended Practice 2220 and the OGP guidelines for working together in a contracting environment, alongside ISO 14001, OHSAS 18001, ISO 45001 and HSG65. Knowledge sessions, practical exercises and a running case study take the cohort from contracting strategy through bid documents, selection interviews, performance monitoring and feedback that actually improves contractor performance.
