The dossier
The brief
Branch economics stop working long before the market runs out of customers — and in Central Africa, the customers a bank most needs to reach are the ones no branch will ever serve profitably. The bank had committed to agency banking as the answer. What it did not yet have was the strategy and framework to make a network of third-party agents an asset instead of an operational and compliance liability.
The work
BIZENIUS trained the bank’s team on what makes agency banking succeed and fail in comparable markets, then worked with them to finalise and strengthen the strategy and operating framework — agent economics, risk and compliance controls, and the governance the network answers to.
What stands
The bank moved forward on a finalised agency banking strategy and operating framework its own people had pressure-tested — a network designed as an asset, with the controls and governance to keep it one.
