Inside the calendar

A year of capability, planned month by month.

The calendar is built for the people who plan learning for a whole institution — heads of L&D, HR and the business leaders who sign off the budget.

Every discipline a bank runs on

Risk and capital, treasury and ALM, credit and IFRS 9, compliance and financial crime, Islamic finance, ESG and sustainable finance, finance and audit, technology, data and AI, leadership, HR and the board.

Planned across the year

Programmes are placed month by month, so a training plan can follow the budget, the reporting calendar and the busy seasons rather than fight them. Exact dates are confirmed with each cohort.

Learning paths

Programmes are grouped into progressions — capital and ICAAP, treasury and ALM, credit and IFRS 9, ESG and others — so a team can build depth over the year instead of attending one-off courses.

Three ways to take part

One seat in a public cohort, a team of several delegates on group terms, or any programme run in-house for one institution, in its own city or online.

New for 2027

Programmes on AI in risk, treasury and finance, the latest AAOIFI standards, FATF mutual evaluation readiness, conduct risk, and green, social, sustainability-linked and transition finance.

Beyond banking

For insurers, energy and mining companies, telecom operators and public institutions, our team selects the programmes that fit from the full catalogue and sends them as a tailored list.

Why 2027 is different

The year three sets of rules are live on the same desks.

Training plans that ignore the regulatory calendar end up paying twice — once for the course, and again for the remediation. These are the changes that shape 2027 for finance and risk teams.

Capital

Basel III final reforms

The Basel Committee reported in October 2026 that almost all of its 27 member jurisdictions have announced that banks must apply the final Basel III reforms by April 2027 or earlier, and that the revised credit risk and operational risk standards and the output floor are already effective in around 85% of them. For most banks, 2027 is a year of running the new rules, not preparing for them.

Reporting

IFRS 18 replaces IAS 1

Under the IASB’s IFRS 18, the new income statement — five categories, new subtotals and management-defined performance measures disclosed in the notes — applies to annual reporting periods beginning on or after 1 January 2027, with restated comparatives.

Islamic finance

AAOIFI FAS 45, 46 and 47

AAOIFI’s standards on quasi-equity and investment accounts, off-balance-sheet assets under management and transfers between investment pools apply to financial periods beginning on or after 1 January 2026, so for calendar-year reporters 2027 is the second year of reporting under them.

Guide

How to build a 2027 training plan leaders take seriously

Five steps L&D and HR teams use to turn a calendar into a plan the executive committee will fund.

  1. Start from the obligations of the year

List what changes in 2027 for your institution — regulatory deadlines, reporting changes, new products, systems going live — and the roles each one touches. That list is the spine of the plan.

  2. Turn gaps into needs, role by role

Ask what the business cannot do today, not which courses people want. Score each gap by its consequence if it stays open, and give each one a business owner.

  3. Choose the format for each need

A public cohort suits a few specialists who benefit from peers at other institutions; live virtual saves travel for dispersed teams; in-house pays off once a whole function needs the same capability.

  4. Sequence it against the calendar

Place programmes before the work they support — ahead of the reporting change, the supervisory review or the product launch — and away from year-end close, audit season and the institution’s peak periods.

  5. Decide how you will judge it

Agree before the year starts what evidence will show the capability is in place: a cleaner review, fewer findings, faster decisions. Then report against it.

Questions

Before you request the calendar

What is in the BIZENIUS 2027 Training Calendar?

A year of practitioner-led programmes for banks, financial institutions and regulators, placed month by month across 2027 and grouped by discipline and learning path, with the formats each programme runs in. It covers risk and capital, treasury, credit, compliance and financial crime, Islamic finance, ESG, finance and audit, technology and AI, leadership and HR.

How do I get the 2027 calendar?

Fill in the short request form on this page. A member of our team emails the calendar to you personally, usually within one business day, and can answer questions about any programme in it.

Is the calendar only for banks?

The calendar itself is led by banking and financial services. If you work in insurance, oil and gas, mining, telecom or government, choose your industry in the form and the team will send a programme list chosen for your sector.

Are the dates in the calendar fixed?

The calendar places each programme in a month. Exact dates are confirmed with each cohort, at least four weeks ahead, so please hold travel bookings until then. Live virtual and in-house delivery are available all year.

Can a programme run in-house for our institution?

Yes. Any programme in the calendar can run for one institution, in its own city or online, as a custom programme scoped on request and quoted per programme.

Are the programmes available live virtual?

Yes. Public cohorts run in the classroom and live virtual, and in-house programmes can be delivered online.

How much do the programmes cost?

Fees and group terms are provided on enquiry. Institutions sending several delegates, in one cohort or across the year, receive group terms.

Do participants receive a certificate, and in which languages do you teach?

Each participant receives a certificate of completion from BIZENIUS — issued as BIZENIUS Banking Academy for banking, finance and insurance programmes. Programmes are practice-led rather than exam-led, and every programme can be delivered in English or French.
