The dossier

The brief

A banking regulator could see liquidity risk building in its system faster than its rulebook could describe it. Supervisors were reviewing returns ratio by ratio while the exposures that actually sink banks — funding concentrations, behavioural run-off, intraday stress — moved in the gaps between them. The supervision team did not want another liquidity course. It wanted command of the full internal liquidity adequacy assessment framework: what a credible ILAAP contains, what it forces a bank’s board to confront, and how an examiner takes one apart.

The work

BIZENIUS designed and delivered a comprehensive ILAAP programme for the regulator’s supervisory team — the framework’s architecture, the evidence it must produce, the board accountabilities behind it, and the review techniques that separate a living framework from a filing exercise. The team worked through the framework the way examiners would use it against a real bank.

What stands

The regulator wrote what its team had mastered into the rulebook. ILAAP framework requirements now apply countrywide, to every active bank in the jurisdiction — a single training mandate became supervisory infrastructure, and the regulator’s team runs it without us. That is the standard this record is judged by.
