Drilling projects fail in the seams — between operations, finance, legal and the contractor, where nobody owns the risk until it has already cost the well money. This programme applies sound project and risk management principles to drilling operations through an integrated, multi-disciplinary approach spanning operations, personnel, administration, finance and legal functions. The focus is the issues that decide whether a drilling project runs efficiently, safely and cost-effectively: cost versus value, contract models, planning and design, tendering strategy, project finance, supply chain, reporting and close-out. The cohort finishes able to apply these principles inside an asset or project team and manage identified risks to increase value.

Frequently asked
Do the programmes cover the energy transition as well as conventional operations?
Both. The curriculum spans oil and gas operations, drilling project and risk management, ESG, and the global energy transition — including how conventional operators finance and sequence the shift. Participants leave able to weigh transition decisions with the same rigour they apply to an operating asset.
Is project finance for energy and infrastructure covered?
Yes — advanced project finance analysis and modelling, PPP and infrastructure finance, and the financing of oil, gas and mining projects all sit in the curriculum. Participants leave able to build and stress a project-finance model and defend the structure to lenders and boards.
How do we enrol a team on an energy programme?
Send an enquiry or brochure request from the programme page; a senior practitioner responds within one business day with the brochure and the options for your group. Team cohorts are arranged through that proposal — including a private, in-house edition when the whole unit should train together.
Who typically attends the energy and utilities programmes?
Engineers, operations managers, project and commercial leaders, and HSE and finance professionals from oil and gas, power, utilities and mining. Regulators and national companies attend alongside private operators, which sharpens the discussion on both sides.
