The programme

Most talent management runs one vacancy and one review at a time, so the organisation never learns what its workforce is worth or where it is exposed. This masterclass treats talent as a business discipline: a plan, a budget, measures. The cohort starts from strategy: the capabilities the next three years depend on, the roles that would hurt most to lose, and where the workforce falls short. It then works the talent cycle as one system — workforce planning, hiring for fit, developing and deploying people against real needs, keeping the ones that matter — and finishes with the analytics: the few people measures a board will read, how to build them from data HR already holds, and how to put a cost and a return on retention, succession depth and development spend. Participants work on their own organisation and leave with a talent plan their executive team can fund. For chief people, talent and HR officers, HR directors and heads of talent, learning, recruitment and organisation development. In-house editions across the GCC and Africa, in English and French.

What you will do

Start from the strategy, not the org chart: name the capabilities the next three years depend on and the roles that would hurt most to lose.
Plan the workforce against real demand, with the gaps, the build-or-buy choices and the timing made explicit.
Hire for fit and keep the people that matter, using selection and retention methods that hold up under pressure from competitors and the public sector.
Develop and deploy people against need, with stretch roles, rotations and sponsors instead of a catalogue of courses.
Build the people measures a board will read, from data HR already holds, and put a cost and a return on retention, succession depth and development spend.
Leave with a talent plan your executive team can fund, built on your own organisation during the masterclass.

Who attends

  • Chief people, talent and HR officers
  • HR directors and heads of talent, learning and organisation development
  • Heads of recruitment and workforce planning
  • Line executives who own a large workforce

Cohorts bring together board members, executives and the rising leaders behind them — kept deliberately small, so every seat is a peer’s.

Frequently asked

What is strategic talent management?

Strategic talent management is running the workforce as a plan rather than a series of transactions: deciding which capabilities and roles the organisation’s strategy depends on, then planning, hiring, developing, deploying and retaining people against that, and measuring the result in terms a board understands. It differs from day-to-day HR in that it starts from the strategy and is judged on business outcomes.

Is this a certification programme?

No. BIZENIUS programmes are practice-led rather than exam-led. Participants receive a BIZENIUS certificate of completion listing every topic covered. The masterclass is not affiliated with any certifying body and does not prepare for an external credential.

What does the masterclass work through?

The talent cycle as one system, on participants’ own organisations: the capabilities and critical roles the strategy depends on, workforce planning against real demand, hiring for fit, development that changes readiness, succession depth, retention, and the people analytics that put a cost and a return on all of it. Each participant leaves with a talent plan their executive team can fund.

Does it cover talent management for GCC organisations under nationalisation targets?

Yes. For Gulf organisations the critical-roles map and the succession-depth work include national talent explicitly, because Qatarisation, Emiratisation and Saudisation now reach senior roles. The masterclass covers how to plan and develop nationals for those roles; the recruitment side is covered in Recruitment & Retention Strategies (Nationalisation) and the leadership handover in The Handover.

Can the programme run in-house, and in which languages?

Yes. BIZENIUS delivers the masterclass in English and French, and an in-house edition is built on your own workforce data, critical roles and succession lists, in confidence. Open sessions run on a rolling calendar with dates confirmed on request; fees and quotations on enquiry.

Who teaches this

Practitioners, not presenters.

Led by practitioners who have run people functions and built academies inside institutions, alongside senior consultants who design capability programmes for banks, energy companies and public bodies. They teach the people agenda as executives experience it: argued in commercial terms, measured, and answerable to a board.

What the bench brings

  • Setting up and running an HR function
  • Workforce assessment, HR metrics and dashboards
  • Recruitment, selection and assessment centres
  • Performance management and talent acquisition
  • Digital and business strategy
  • Enterprise-wide transformation programmes

Where they have practised

Current and former practitioners — people who hold the seat today alongside those who have held it.

Sectors: Banking & financial services · Manufacturing & industry · Oil & gas · Professional services

Regions: Africa · the Middle East · Europe · Asia · the Americas

How they teach

  • Case studies and role plays on real people decisions
  • Group discussion and peer challenge
  • Practical tools, templates and dashboards
  • Self-assessment and reflection
  • A personal action plan to take back

Cohorts are kept small so every exercise is worked on the participants’ own situations — in person or live virtual.
