ILAAP Deep Dive & Implementation Masterclass

Two days building an ILAAP that stands — liquidity risk appetite, stress testing, contingency funding and documentation aligned with Basel III, ECB and EBA expectations.

Classroom · Live Virtual

The programme

Liquidity failures move faster than capital failures, and a paper ILAAP offers no protection when funding turns. This two-day masterclass takes a hands-on approach to designing, developing and implementing the Internal Liquidity Adequacy Assessment Process — built to Basel III, ECB and EBA requirements rather than retro-fitted to them. Through expert-led sessions, case studies and interactive workshops, participants construct the framework piece by piece: liquidity risk appetite, governance and oversight, stress testing and scenario analysis, and a contingency plan the institution could actually execute. The cohort also works through integration with the ICAAP, documentation and reporting for regulatory review, and where AI and data analytics are taking liquidity risk management next.

What you will do

Design an ILAAP framework aligned with Basel III, ECB and EBA expectations — and defend it under regulatory review.
Set a liquidity risk appetite, with governance and oversight, that genuinely constrains the balance sheet.
Build stress tests and scenario analyses that probe liquidity resilience, not merely satisfy a template.
Write a liquidity contingency plan your organisation can execute in a live funding event.
Integrate the ILAAP with the ICAAP and other regulatory frameworks into one cohesive risk strategy.
Prepare documentation and reporting for regulatory reviews and assessments, knowing what supervisors look for.
Anticipate where AI and data analytics are taking liquidity risk management before your peers do.

Who attends

  • Chief Risk Officers and heads of liquidity risk
  • Heads of treasury, ALM and balance-sheet management
  • CFOs, heads of finance and heads of market risk
  • Internal audit, compliance and Basel III programme managers
  • Regulators and business heads

Cohorts bring together board members, executives and the rising leaders behind them — kept deliberately small, so every seat is a peer’s.

Frequently asked

Do these programmes cover the Basel III final reforms and the ICAAP/ILAAP cycle?

Yes. The BIZENIUS banking curriculum is built around the Basel III endgame, ICAAP, ILAAP, IRRBB, IFRS 9 provisioning, stress testing and BCBS 239. Participants leave able to quantify the output floor on their own portfolios, write capital and liquidity documents that withstand supervisory review, and defend the numbers to their board.

Are the programmes adapted to regional supervisors such as SAMA, CBUAE or BCEAO?

Casework is built around supervisory documents rather than textbook theory, and faculty include former practitioners who have sat on both sides of an examination. Programmes address the questions SAMA, CBUAE, BCEAO and other home regulators actually put to the desk, and an in-house edition can be tailored to a single jurisdiction.

How do I secure a seat on a banking programme?

Apply for a seat or request the brochure from the programme page. A senior practitioner — not a sales team — responds within one business day, and the brochure arrives with that reply. BIZENIUS runs on enquiry: there is no online checkout.

Can a programme run in-house for our bank?

Every BIZENIUS programme can be delivered in-house, tailored to your balance sheet, your regulator and your data, in English or French. Many institutions start with an open cohort, then commission a private edition for the wider team.
